1841 slide block at Raikot Remains of huge 1841 landslide off of Nanga Parbat. View of Indus River is to NE (upstream). This slide blocked the Indus River for six months. When this natural dam failed, it unleashed a great flood that caused great destruction all along the Indus Valley, even where it exits onto the Indo-Gangetic Plain.
